It’s a simple and convenient way to manage your money and financial transactions, all in one place! Mobile Money is offered by Lonestar Cell MTN in partnership with a variety of leading banking institutions in Liberia.

With this service you can send and receive USD and LRD, top up your airtime, pay bills (DStv, LEC, school fees, gas and more), as well as pay for a variety of other goods and services. Lonestar Cell MTN MoMo offers you the convenience of acquiring the money and services you need without having to travel far, or wait for long.

How to use Lonestar Cell Mobile Money 

All you need to do is register for the service with a valid photo ID. You can then send and receive money and payments by dialling *156# from your Lonestar Cell MTN cellphone. For more information on how to use Lonestar Cell MTN Mobile Money, call 111 from your cellphone.​

Lonestar Cell MTN Mobile Money is a service provided by Lonestar Cell MTN in partnership with selected merchants and banks. This service operates through authorised merchants only, who will facilitate the services on behalf of the partner banks.

You need to:

Visit any Lonestarcell-MTN Service Center or Ambassador and provide valid identification card (Passport, Driver’s license, National ID, Voter’s ID)

 

To complete registration:

 

Dial *156# and press ok/call button

A welcome message is received.

“Welcome to Mobile Money,

Please select ID type”

1). Driver’s License

4). Birth certificate

5). Voters ID

6). Other (School, Church, Work, etc.)

Select reply/answer and send

Enter one of the ID types above (e.g. #5 for voters ID)

Enter ID number (e.g. 1214)

Select 5 digit Pin code (e.g. 12345)

Repeat Pin code (e.g. 12345)

 

To Transact:

  1. Dial *156# and press the call/ok button

  • Select 1 to buy airtime for own number

Allow Cash Out feature is used to: Allow a Teller or MoMo Agent to withdraw cash from your Mobile Money account. This is done in two ways: 

Step 1: Agent Initiated Cashout

 

  • Agent initiates cashout from agent’s device 
  • Confirm Cashout by approving with :

1) Yes 

2) No

Step 2

  • Dial *156# and press the call/ok button.
  • Enter Mobile Number

The Manage Account feature allows you to: Check Balance, Request Statement, Manage Favorites, and Change Account Pin

To pay with Lonestar Cell MTN Mobile Money, follow the instructions below on you mobile phone:

MoMo Tap & Pay uses Near-Field Communication (NFC) technology to enable MTN Mobile Money customers to tap and pay using their mobile devices.

  • Agent initiates transaction on POS device or terminal
  • User receives USSD Push message displayed on device screen. (Ex. Please confirm you wish to make a payment of $1,000 LRD at ERA super Market.)
